Insurance Coverage
Insurance covers a portion of Sarah's services. After verification, you'll owe a $100 non-covered fee per visit; the rest is covered by your plan.
BCBS / Blue Shield: Not currently in-network. A superbill can be provided after the visit for you to submit for reimbursement.
To use insurance, verify coverage before booking using the right path for your plan:
Aetna and United PPO
Please email sarah@nestinglactation.com your insurance card, DOB, subscriber name and subscriber DOB for approval and you would only owe a $100 non-covered charge.
Cigna PPO
Submit your insurance information through Wildflower Health.
$100 non-covered fee per visit.
Any other PPO
Submit your insurance information through Healthie.
$100 non-covered fee per visit.

Insurance plans cover a defined set of lactation services, but most don't cover the full scope of a home consult (the travel time, the extended assessment, the newborn care guidance). The $100 covers the portion your plan won't reimburse. The rest of the visit is fully covered.

Usually 1–3 business days. For Aetna and United, Sarah handles approval directly via email. For Cigna and other PPOs, you'll hear back from Wildflower Health or The Lactation Network respectively.

Try the "Any Other PPO" path first — The Lactation Network covers a wide range of plans. If that doesn't work out, Sarah can provide a superbill after a self-pay visit for you to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement.

Yes. Once you're approved, most plans cover several visits — typically 3–6 lactation consults per pregnancy/postpartum period. The $100 non-covered fee applies per visit.
